In my defense on weaponry, Isaac is not permitted to shoot people or animals.  So he either shoots trees or imaginary bad guys.  But the best part is when he will point the gun at a person but then angle the gun 90 degrees to the right, then pull the trigger.  I think that he is pointing the gun at a person in his heart but not in action.

It was a nice visit home with family for Christmas weekend.  As usual, my children received an enormous amount of gifts: clothes, dolls, slippers, bed sheets, candy, stuffed animals, 2 swords, 3 guns and a crossbow.  It wouldn’t be Christmas without weapons.

All of these items, then, needed to be stuffed into our car for the drive home.  Thankfully I drive a Dodge Stratus and I am the son of my father which means that I have the ability to pack an large amount of packages and bags into a trunk of car.

I’m at my in-laws’ house listening to their CDs on their computer.  “In Christ Alone” just played and I could not help but think of Joel Flower and Jimmy Rollins.  Long live 90s worship!

For the record, Rainchildren was the greatest band… ever.  Long live the 90’s!

Speaking of items that people cannot live without, whoever invented the hot dog (or “tube-steak” for those on the other side of the tracks) was an absolutely brilliant person.  Think of this: How many children would not eat any food at all if it weren’t for the hot dog?  Aside from the nutritional value of the hot dog, it is also an easy word to say as a child; two syllables, both consisting of words that already exist in a child’s vocabulary.  My children are brilliant but they still have a difficult time with pronouncing their other two favorite foods: spaghetti and macaroni.  Good thing we have hot dogs!

Washington – Coffee and tea may reduce the risk of serious liver damage in people who drink alcohol too much, are overweight, or have too much iron in the blood, researchers reported on Sunday.

The study of nearly 10 000 people showed that those who drank more than two cups of coffee or tea per day developed chronic liver disease at half the rate of those who drank less than one cup each day.

The study, conducted by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases and Social & Scientific Systems, found that coffee provided no protection to people at risk of liver disease from other causes, such as viral infections.

At the rate that I drink coffee, I could consume about a 6-pack a day for 14 straight years before I would have any damage to my liver.

Tomorrow, I’ll be talking about “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” in Sunday School.. Most people in the class have not read the book so I don’t know how much discussion there’ll be.  The book is amazing; especially the resurrection scene.

We are seeing the movie this Friday with friends of ours from HU.  This will be the first movie that I have ever seen on an opening day.  Movies generally disappoint me but I do not think that this one will leave me empty-handed.

I just heard “Jesus Freak” in our campus bookstore.  This is the greatest DC Talk song (there weren’t many).  I need to send a shout-out to the original Valley Forge members of the “Counting Cats”: Nick Bonanno, Paul Dunkley and Pat Weber.
