Here is a site with some sweet church signs. You can even make your own sign. “Let go & let God.” or “Come inside. We’re prayer conditioned”

Why doesn’t God defend himself against false accusations? How does God seemingly sit idly by while people do harm to one another in His Name? How can he stand it when people openly deny his existence or work in the world? Don’t get me wrong, I have benefited from God’s long-suffering patience but I have to wonder sometimes why he doesn’t just refuse to take credit for actions that are not directed by him and take credit for the activities that he encourages?

In the past 2 weeks, someone has given us a newer refridgerator and stove. Now all 4 burners can be used in our house.
This past weekend, my neighbor helped me install a new 80 gallon hot water heater. Our former hot water heater was 30 gallons. I can now take a shower for the entire AM of the day without running out of hot water.

If you like Ravi Zacharias (then you probably know this but…), check out http://www.rzim.org/publications/jt_index.php. He has short articles on a wide range of topics. Each are good food for thought from a master chef.

My son, Isaac, was feeling the 2-day stubble on my face tonight. “This makes me feel funny,” he said. “It feels prickly like cactus fur.” Hope told him, “Someday, your face will feel prickly too.” Grace chimed in, “Yeah, because you’re going to be a DAD.” To which Isaac added, “And I can be LAZY.”

My daughter, Grace, just received notice from her pre-school that she passed her hearing test. I told her, “Great job on passing your hearing test.” She replied, “What?”

Sign up for “Hop On The Bus” for January term! This course will be a great experience of traveling through Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia visiting historic Civil Rights sites and listening to the inspiring stories of those who have lived through the harassment and fear of the segregated South. We will attend a 2000 member church of all African-Americans, tour interactive museums, visit churches active in the movement, see birth homes of key leaders, tour academic institutions (including HuntingDON College) and eat good southern cooking. On top of all that, you can spend quality time with Dr. Norris Friesen and myself in a warmer climate. Good experiences will be had by all. Invite a friend!
E-mail me if you have any questions.

Below is a link to an article remembering Rosa Parks. The man being interviewed is George Smith. Mr. Smith will be our Martin Luther King Commemoration Service speaker on Tuesday, January 17.
Hope and I met with Mr. and Mrs. Smith a few weeks ago for dinner. They both shared stories of their experience of registering black voterssin Mississippi during 1964. They had been beaten, harassed, spent time in a jail cell with MLK and had crosses burnt in their yards. Mr. Smith was a close friend of James Cheney who was one of the three Civil Rights workers killed in Mississippi in 1964. The movie “Mississippi Burning” tells part of the town’s story during this experience.
